Elspeth walks into the shop carrying a piece of wood taller than she is, and with a somewhat damaged light leather jerkin slung across her shoulder.

"There's a couple of things. First, could you repair this for me?" She holds out the jerkin.
"Also, someone left this on my doorstep this morning. I have a vague idea who might have left it, but I don't know what it is. It's as hard as iron! Could you tell me what it is? And can you work it into a staff for me?"

A young man walks into the shop, eyes flickering to the corners and around the walls before he advances further. He looks somewhat ragged and travelworn, his armour has seen better days.
"Hail, I heard tell that this were the place to go for good quality Smithing in these parts. I wonder if you can help me out..."

Arrianna comes into the shop to show Dave a brand new red mercenaries permit with her name on. "Can I have my... plate, sword and the chainmail shirt you're lending me please?"
"Thank you."

Yates nods to the priestess respectfully.
"You may be waiting a while. I've no idea where he's got to."

*Dave takes a quick look at Yates and offers a hand to shake"
Aye, I be Dave. Whit can I be doin' fae ye?
*As Arianna walks in, Dave (not Juss) checks the permit closely*
Everythin' be in order now *smiles and walks into a back room where a heavy chect can be heard opening*
Here be ye plate and sword fae ye Mother Dawnbreaker. Te chain be over 'ere
*Dave goes over to a display case and unlocks it pulls out a suit of well used chain which has been very well maintained.*

OOC: No worries *Yates shakes hands* "After that debacle with the heretics of Stonewall, I realised I could use a bit more distance 'tween me and those tryin' to kill me. I'm looking to get a Glaive made. I've got a shortsword that might function as a blade if reworkin a shortsword is cheaper than making one from scratch.. What kinda price would one of them be?"

*dave scratches his head* so ye want a shortsword on a pole?
*Dave mutters to himself* well tae make sure te blade could strike with you could'ne just tie one on. Makin' a spear with a blade imbedded in the end would'ne be tae difficult...
*Dave return his intension to Yates* I'm sure I can make ye something like that, but it wont be cheap. ye need good quality wood fae te shaft and then a strong blade tae tak te force at te other end... 12 Crowns.

*Yates consults a small leather book and looks sour*
"Highest I can go right now is 9 crowns, but if you accept material goods I have some plain leather armour and a light mace I can throw in.
I'm heading out into the wilds this Sunday, I'd like it beforehand but if we can't work something out I'll come back afterward with a little more coin. I'd shop around, but dad always said but if you buy local and buy regular, it pays for itself three times over in time."
*Yates tilts his head, waiting for a reply*

*Dave consults some papers*
Te short mace could off set some o' te difference... how much leather are we lookin' at? *dave does not look hopeful*
This shortsword ye mentioned. Ye lookin' tae keep that? *dave thinks again and looks concerned*
If ye hand over te weapons and armour, do you have these spare or will this mean you only go oot wit this glaive?

"I've a full set of plain leather that cost me a penny short of two crowns, and this mace was just over three.
I can lose the shortsword but it'd leave me a little light when I head out. I'm no smith, I don't know how long these things take, but if you're saying it wouldn't be ready till afterward anyway, maybe I could pay half now and half when I pick it up?"

Mr Yates,
I think iffn ye want tae pay half now and then half when ye pick it up that might be best fae ye in terms of cost.
I could get it made in time, I'd need tae start today, but It can be done.
Iffn ye be trading in ye equipment, I canne offer te price ye paid fae it. I would only suggest ye trade stuff in if ye feel ye REALLY NEED it.
I would also suggest ye might consider askin' folks ye ken well if they have a couple of crowns they could spare until ye pay em back? just a thought anyhow.
