Consolidating the Threats

Fellow adventurers.

Every time I go out on a hiring in Clydesdale I learn of many new threats to the area. There are so many different groups coming in and threatening the safety of our people that I thought it might be a good idea to try and consolidate our knowledge of each threat as we become away and attempt to deal with it more effectively by sharing information. It will also ensure that we use our forces wisely and do not allow any one particular threat to go unchecked.

As I am currently aware of it, the threat I am most actively focussed on at the moment is the undead threat in the Marshes near to Dreich, just to the South East of Waterfoot. We fought many undead, some spell casters all of whom made us feel that we didn't want to attack them. It was a strange feeling but the sheer numbers of undead coming from that ruin was terrifying. I would like to lead another expedition back to that area to check but first I would like to do some more reading and see if we can't uncover some information on what was once there. I know that some of us were intending to have a look at doing some research - Jusstarian? Have you had a chance to look into this yet? I'm afraid I've been busy but now that I'm back home I can spend some time in the archives.

Also - There were a demonic cult known as the Cabal. However, my sources within the clan lands of Glen Barrow have not seen anything further of them. I wouldn't mind sending a small force of us to check their whereabouts as any demonic activity must be quickly stopped. Is anyone willing to come travel with me on a short journey this week before we head over to Dunlirron for the hirings? It shouldn't take long and you can have hospitality at Clan Primrose's tower within Glen Barrow. Perhaps Farran, Dill and Jusstarian? We worked rather well as a team the last hiring, I wouldn't mind you two at my back whilst we go and check on the area. It should be a quick job but I would rather be prepared. It will leave us in a better position to address the other threats to the area if we can ascertain where this Cabal have got to.

I also know there's some issues surrounding a disease but I couldn't tell you much more than that. Would someone more 'in the know' care to explain?

The disease started in Braeloch and spread out from there. There is a cure but requires a herb that grows in Netherburn that's really hard to cultivate to make it perminant and could cause problems for the locals if over harvested. Kelvin Rustland is from the area so understands the ins and outs of it so your best asking him. Care Company seem to be distributing the cure with what we brought back but no idea how long that will last.

There's a worrying strong Githasian prescence in Torrence as well. They've taken advantage of disease to take up residence.The town are pretty much turning to the dark gods and attacked as just for talking to them about it after we left.Green masked followers as well as ones just wearing the symbol.

There was Llaminusians but haven't seen them since their warleader was taken down in Waterfoot. Doesn't mean their not still around though.

I come from Torrence. I have seen these masked people curing the disease right before my eyes! They do not seem to be doing any harm to anyone. I can assure you that these "Githasians" are good people.

That may well be lad but at what cost? They're helping now to win your hearts but in the end they'll make their intent known.

what harm could they do us? we have already been afflicted with the disease. what are they going to do? give us back the disease?

Just remember lad that Githasians are heretics. So says Lord Longstor and Lady Vleybor. The dark six may not always have an obvious evil intent but be assured they are heretics and wish harm to good seven-fearing folk like us. Just now they seem to be using this crisis with the disease to get into the hearts of the people of Clydesdale. Lady Vleybor gifts us with healing miracles, Githas simply uses the people against themselves, preaching vanity that would cause us all to simply look inwards and care not for our fellows. What would the world be if everyone cared not for their friends and family and aquaintences and strangers and only for themselves? A sad world indeed. Don't you think?

But believe what you will until experience changes your mind. We can only hope to gift people with knowledge so that they may better understand the world around them.

Yes, I agree. They are heretics, I think people of Torrence forget. More caution should be taken to ensure our faith stays solid. But as long as the Seven stay strong in our hearts, heretic's actions shall not affect us. As long as we keep this in mind, then the Githasians will do no harm to us, and any who do turn their backs on the Seven, the will receive no help from the gods. As for now, I firmly believe that these heretics have a good cause, and wish to help our people.

You are correct, of course. I can understand why peasants may not understand that there is payment required for what the Dark Six do.

It is probably something that should be looked into as a matter of urgency. I will ask around to see if any priests of the Seven are available to go and preach to Torrance. I suggest we all do the same. The more words of light that we can take to those who are ignorant the better.

And Dill, I suggest we wait to see if Jus and Farran are available this week around Wednesday perhaps and then head up to the North to have a look into the demon problem.

Well I am trying to research into Lord Tristian or whatever his name is, but I'm just not that kind of elf. I dont like libraries. Now going and culling some more Cabal followers is more my thing. Although without a weapon which can affect Deamons, normal weapons just sometimes do not work, this could be an issue.

The cultists were fairly easy to kill and the clans were supposed to be working to oust them. Oh yes I was part of a group the Earl sent to look for his cousin who went missing - he was killed in a deamonic circle. The Cabal had claimed an area in the clan clands and had tried to start a civil war. This was averted and they were supposed to be working together to ensure the Cabal did not continue to run amok.

Then a representative from the Cabal came to Bara during the Champion Selections and made it all the way into the city and basically said that they were not leaving....

Basically, if anyone is going, go prepared!

Juss - Will you come with us to scout the area they were last seen in this coming Wednesday? It is very much an information gathering quest and I don't know when we'll get a chance to do it otherwise.
