"Discussing local matters, deciding when best to leave for the Dunlirron hiring a day hence."
"And with that Ladies, I will bid you goodnight, for there is a long journey ahead on the morrow and I wish to get some rest before it is time to depart."
Marcas draws himself heavily to his feet, drains what is left in his tankard, retrieves his sword and heads for the door.

She gives Marcas another cheeky grin as he leaves.
Rubbing her chin a little "Dunlirron hiring, eh.... might need to get me some of that"
Seryn becomes lost in thought thinking of the riches and adventure to be had being a hired adventurer. She tips her tricorn a back a little and stares up at the ceiling.
"... so er... this hiring thingmajig... in Dunlirron... can anyone be hired?"

Jeanne stands and bids goodbye to Marcas. "I'll see you in the morning, Good night."
Sitting down again, she leans back with the one remaining book on the table open in front of her. The title is 'Ithronian - Guiadonese dictionary'.
"The hiring is for adventurers. Are you an adventurer?" Jeanne looks a little sceptical at Seryn. "Becoming one, if not, is no small task. It is a terrible, terrifying profession. But utterly worthwhile if you have the stomach for it."

Seryn looks at Jeanne with eyes full of wonder and intrigue.
"Yeah... yeah i'm an adventurer... sure... that's me, always looking for adventure... Sometimes it just finds me", winking at her.
"well.... er. Say I know a friend, wants to sign up to be an adventurer. How would I... I mean she... sign up?"

"I am a 'stuffy bookworm', my dear, not stupid." She smiles.
"If you want to become an adventurer I can take you to the hiring in Dunlirron - though I don't know the way so we will be relying on Marcas for that! But only so long as you understand the risks and are willing to accept them. You can be paid better for one mission than most normal people will earn in six months. But at the cost of danger, risking your life, being stabbed, beaten, kidnapped, tortured... etcetera. The reason why we do it is that some jobs need doing to protect the land, but the risk is still great, even considering the reward. Though you may be paid very well you also have expenses you wouldn't normally. Armour costs to be repaired, swords break, alchemy is expensive, bandages cost, even."
"But in the end, it is worth it to protect Lirron. If you'd rather be in the pub than spending days trekking through dangerous, muddy woodland in search of someone who will likely try to kill you, then adventuring is not for you."
"But if you are willing to make the sacrifices, it is a very worthy calling."

Jeanne laughs. "It's good to see that you're so excited but I'm worried you're not being serious about ze risks. 'owever, if you still want to become an adventurer in the morning you're welcome to come with us. I suggest, if you want to become a weapon-wielding adventurer that you go quickly and sign up for the Mercenaries or Scouts guilds. 'ave you ever used a weapon before? I don't mean 'itting someone across the back of the 'ead with a chair in ze middle of a bar brawl, however... "
"I'm fine with my water, but thank you anyway."

"Serious? I've never been more serious in my life... well except the time where i left home. Stupid farm life was boooooring... but yeah I know how to fight.. sure... i've whacked a few skulls before... yeah like that time... " she becomes lost in thought for a moment and snaps back a moment later.
"so yeah. tomorrow. I shall see you then"
With that, she downs her full tankard of ale, and staggers out of the bar.
