Seeker Bristleback.
I am the ranking scout in these here parts, and even I haven't been crazy enough to visit the immortal ice. I don't think there will be many adventurers still around from when the immortal ice was defeated. In fact most who went, died. All the knowledge I have was found looking in the LOcal library. I'll give you directions if you like. I think there is also an ex adventurer who runs a bookshop nearby. I'll keep my eyes and ears out for any more information for you.

I suppose you could try asking the Longstorians if they know anything but If you want my advice there are some things best not looked into to closely. Things were very hard in Lirron the year the ice came and many entire towns and villages died.
I`ve heard that the ice sometimes appears as an "Ice Queen" but can`t really confirm this, presumably because people tend not to survive meeting her and therefore there are few witnesses. I`ve also heard tales of a special kind of Troll, an "Ice Troll" which appears to be a particularly vicious form of the breed which may serve the ice in some way. I`m not sure that the ice was actually defeated but just stopped for a while, perhaps for a few generations or so.
So my advice is just drop the whole subject, some of the major religions might just think that you`re dabbling in heresy! A Longstorian/Lirron priest once told me that while Longstorians and Kryganites were opposed on just about eveything the one thing they did agree on was that `The Ice` (or what it represents) is the real enemy.
