Alvarion walks into the bar, a letter clasped in his hand. A look of total misery upon his face. He walks up to the bar, "A cup of water please." He takes the cup and finds a quiet corner to sit in.

Saffron enters the Barras, clinking with way too much armour to fit easily around the tables. "Oops, sorry!" She gasps, squeezing around the room until she can find an empty table. Looking up, however, she notices Alvarion sitting by himself.
"Hello," she says quietly, standing over the table with her arms folded. "Can I join you?"

Alvarion looks up slightly at hearing the voice. "Saffron, sit if you wish, but I doubt I will very good company."

She sits, awkwardly, and folds her arms on the table. "Why's that exactly? Shame perhaps?"

Alvarion's gaze falls back to the letter "Partly. Mainly, I can't return home. I suppose you could say that I am an exile. Both my actions and inaction during what happened with that Ogre have lead to my no longer being welcome within the forests of Glen Moss." He shifts slightly in his seat, "I feel more truly alone now than I ever have before. I have betrayed vows that I swore to uphold many years ago. Label me oath breaker if you will for that is what I am."

Saffron listens in silence and then nods. "So, you feel as though you've broken your vows to your homeland. Are you upset because you broke the vows, or are you upset because of your actions? There is a difference."
"One of the things I've been thinking about since you became Crowan is how you will have to alter your entire outlook now that you have a higher purpose, a higher calling. Let's consider what happened with the preacher who was preaching at the townsfolk last time we were out too. It was Crowa's holy day and we'd been talking about trying not to fight, except when absolutely necessary. And then, almost next time we came upon a group of people, you were in their faces, shouting, being agressive, holding your sword up to someone unarmed. I am also incredibly shocked that anyone could be agressive towards Steve, nevermind a Crowan. Steve was very upset. I take it you've spoken to her?"
"I think that you should perhaps talk to a priest, Elandowyn would be fine, or another Crowan, and pray also, to come to grips with the anger I can see you carry. That anger is the path to Abraxis. We are protectors, and sometimes we protect by killing the bad guy, yes, but... It's not our calling to murder, to attack. It's our calling to protect."
"Look upon being cast out from your homeland as casting away the old you, the angry you, the oathbreaker you. Move now to become better than you were before."

Alvarion heaves a great sigh and casts his gaze downwards. "You give wise advice Saffron, I am angry, most of that anger is directed inwards." He shakes his head. "I have spoken to Steve, I believe she is still praying within at the shrine to Lord Kharach. She considers that there was nothing to apologise for." "I do not wish this to be the end, but I cannot see the path ahead, I do not look forward to travelling to Dunlirron again and to see those who were part of that incident. I feel anger towards them for their actions and of course I take my share of the blame, for I aided them from the back. This was always going to be a difficult month, but now it will be harder and yet easier at the same time."
"I will speak with a priest in due course, Elandowyn if she will hear me, but I do not know whether she will speak with me at the moment."

"She will, because she is a Priest first and foremost, and Priests are pretty much always happy to talk to folk about religious things. She'd never let her personal feelings get in the way of that. I'm sure of it."
Saffron sits back and shrugs. "I don't know exactly who else was there, but I think you really have to focus on you. Not everyone has made oaths to the Gods about their behaviour. Yeah, I personally think they should all be ashamed of themselves - adventurers are supposed to be heroes - but at the end of the day, our oaths aren't theirs. You can only answer for your own actions."
"Why exactly are you angry? I mean, why were you angry on the day with the preacher? You hadn't broken oaths at that point, so you can't say it was because of that. You say it's pointed inward, but obviously it affects your actions towards others as well."

"My anger is currently pointed inwards. I am upset with how I acted and allowed to others to act." At the mention of the preacher, Alvarion looks out into space, considering his answer carefully. "I do not know why I showed such anger towards the preacher, I suppose it was just what she was saying to those villagers. I think I need to take some time before the next hiring, try to get a grip on what is going on."
"I will speak to Elandowyn as soon as I can."

Saffron smiles. "Great. Been up to much other than that? I've been thinking about taking up a musical instrument or something. You know, something I can use to make people happy. Cause people are happy when they listen to music right?"
"Also, seen much of Seryn? Feel like I haven't seen her in ages."

"I've not seen Seryn since our first meeting with the Serpent." Alvarion smiles slightly to himself. "Music is a joyous thing, I sing a little, I did like your idea for a song for us."

She smiles. "I haven't seen her in a while either. Ellen and I had a fun time in Derwentshire last time we were out though. When I say 'fun' I mean that we almost all died..."
"I think it's times like that when you want to just start singing, you know? Lift spirits and hopefully not die in the process."

Alvarion looks around nervously "Aye, but I will speak no more about that, you never know who is listening."

She pauses, "Speak no more about what? Getting nearly killed by Abraxians or singing?"

"Neither, pay it no mind. So the Abraxians, in Derwentshire you say?"
