Yates approaches the shrine, his stride a weary trudge over the cobblestones. He catches the eye of one of the attendant priests and nods a greeting.

The Priest walks over to Yates "Is there something I can help you with?"

Yates sighs, heavily "Actually yes, yes there is. I was recently captured by followers of Krygan. They used magic to keep me from death, and then set what I'm told are Elderkin to hunt me and... well. Anyway. I was suggested to come here to have any lingering corruption cleansed. I would request your discretion in this matter, I'd rather not have it known that I survived just yet."

The Priest shakes his head, a little bemused. "Very well, the ritual remove such is not a difficult one. Stand there and don't move." The Priest then begins to enact a ritual of remove corruption, during the ritual Yates finds that he has a vial of holy water thrown over him. Once the ritual is complete the Priest removes his hood and looks at Yates "Any corruption that was wrought upon will now have been removed. Is there anything you need?"

*Yates inclines his head in thanks* If it please you father, I seek knowledge. If Longstor is dedicated to opposing the Kryganites, then I would know more of him. I was defenceless against their magics, and if Longstor can offer those in service to him against the Kryganites protection or power, I would know of it.

The Priest takes a moment to consider the question. "You should not seek the aid of the Gods for power alone, it is the single most important decision of your life. It is true that Lord Longstor and his followers do oppose Krygan and all those who would follow him but that is not all we do. The followers of Longstor are the defenders of the forest and of the natural order. It is acceptable to say that the followers of Longstor actively oppose corruption in all it's forms.

*Yates nods to the priest* Is it not the case that power is only as useful as the purpose to which you put it? *he takes a moment to consider* I spend my life walking the woods and forests of Ithron. I am called to seek the lost, protect the helpless, to guide people safely through danger. To walk first and before those in my charge, to see and to understand the language of the earth and stone, leaf and branch.
What you're saying is that followers of Longstor do precisely that, but for the land itself, rather than the people that walk it? *yates frowns as he considers this*

"In a way I suppose, we protect the land from damage and corruption. The way that can be done takes many forms, educating the people who use the land is one of them. While we try to help those who can't help themselves, defending the forests and wild places in the world is the priority to many of the Longstorian Church."

*Yates nods understandingly* "I feel that our values align closely, but my priority has always been to the people in my charge. I will not do your Lord the disservice of following him out of a selfish desire for vengeance. That I will achieve by myself.
Should the church of Longstor ever have need of a Scout in their efforts against the followers of Krygan, count me among the first who would gladly assist, with no thought of coin."

The Priest nods, "That is probably wise though should you ever change your mind, the church always welcomes new followers, for the right reasons."

*Yates gives a short bow to the priest* "The future holds many possibilities, maybe in due time. Blessings of the Seven upon you, Father"
*Yates turns to leave*
