Please however, take into consideration that ferrous metals will only be considered if they contain magical properties and that they can be collected by another, since I personally do not wish to work with such metals. Apprenticeship
I am also available to take an apprentice into the magical artes for one person to join with the Guild of Mages. I consider each request of this nature seriously and will endeavour to teach the basic magical skills to. However, keep in mind that I hold my apprentices to the same standard that I hold myself to and that the protection of Ithron's lands, as well as the lands power and prosperity are my highest priority.

Lysandus smiles kindly as he begins speaking, putting away an odd journal and other research material, "Ah. Dave. I can most assuredly examine such a thing for you. In fact, it would be a pleasure. Tell me a little of this shield as I look upon it? As for price... Perhaps a favour for a favour would be of interest. Plus, I always do like investigating such things."

Lysandus takes a seat at a small wooden desk, gesturing for Dave to also sit, "Tea?"

*Dave takes a seat and places the shield next to the desk as it would take up ost of its surface*

Tea? aye why not. As fae te storey behind this shield... I have had this shield fae quite sometime. There was a Black Knight keep some distance outside Barra where a necromancer had set up home. Te only adventurers at te hirin' were myself an' Grey Squirrel an spritely young elven scout.

We adventured oot tae the keep and on route were provided some assistance by a group opperating in te area. The provided us with information and a blessed weapon. We lit a signal fire once we had fought our way inside and they followed providing support and distraction making our skirmish into te depth o te keep possible.

Inside we found an alter to Kharach with a spirit who was not at rest due to the desecration of the keep and a Death Knight. We fought the death Knight and though cunning the both o us were able tae tak it doon.

Near-by in a room locked with a puzzle, which the spirit helped us solve, we found this shield and a tabbard which had been untarnished by the years.

we then wen on tae kill a vampire, although that was a close call. It slips my mind at this time if we killed the necromancer but it was not the master or if it escaped.Im fairly sure this was reed not long after though.

I know the Shield is made from Gold and Ghorill and some other mages have told me it is magical. I am not surprised by this as I have used all my skills tae analyse ths further, but I canne even scratch it. It has taken a dwaven guardian golem smashing it and is not dented. I know some mages might be able to investigate this further, but I dinne trust who I dinne ken and I dinne ken many mages.

Lysandus pours a cup of tea for the pair of them as he listens to the story. Smiling, he seems to consider a few things, "We of the school of enchanting deal with such matters, when it pertains to both magic and items in this fashion. I'm glad you brought this to my attention." With that, he carefully begins his examination, lifting it onto the table for a better look.

"Those Magi you have spoken to are correct. It is magical in nature. From the look of it, it has also bound itself to you, which makes sense. You see, magical items such as this do not operate often unless they are bound. I have read of ways of removing a binding such as this, but with my limited knowledge and power, I do not possess the means to aid you in that way."

He frowns, then reaches into his desk and pulls out some chalk, "I can likely figure out, though magical means, quite what this shield is capable of. However, it will take time and my personal energies to do as such. When do you next intend to venture forth into the Wilds? That will determine how much of my time I have to invest immediately." He smiles slightly, comfortable and confident, regardless of this actually being his first investigation into matters such as this.

"I am aware that there are those of the North that disfavour we Magi. But I can assure you that I am trustworthy. Even Grayson seems to have a respect and from the stories I have heard from others now passed..." He pauses momentarily, shaking his head clearly, "...From others now gone, that is, or has been, quite difficult to achieve." He sighs, now seemingly pained, "As for price... Well. I will do a full investigation, including into its name, identity, magical ability and history... Not to mention its actual creation... Hm."

He pauses again, taking out a long elven styled pipe. Lighting it, he takes a puff and exhales, "I suppose the question should be, what would you consider fair for such things? If someone came to you to identify the metal and markings that indicate its age and creator, what would you personally charge? Admittedly, I have a figure in mind, but I am aware that things up here can be tighter than in the southern lands."

I admittedly dinne charge fae identifications, but then it dinne require any real effort other than the ken I have already.

I be more practical and mainly concerned if there be any reppercussions tae continuing tae use something I dinne ken aboot.

A good workman ken his tools, it what ma master be teachin' me. I consider the items I take oot adventurin' tae be tools in te same way.

I dont see any urgency tae this task, I have been usin' it fae sometime now, but thought I would enquire as tae whit ye might be able tae dae fae me. Im sure there might be records o te ole Black Knight keep around and that might have some more information an te history.

As fae price i'm willing tae pay, generally that depends an the effort ye are required tae expend. I was hopin' nae more than a few crowns fae an understandin' o what this shield actually does and why... depending an what ye find oot an what resources ye need tae use then we could certainly negotiate on price.
