Marcas limps in to the bar, the hood of his traveling cloak drawn up over his face. "A flagon of ale, please Barman. If anyone comes in looking for me, I'll be over there."
He drags himself into a quiet corner of the bar and takes a seat at an empty table, settling in for the duration.

Elandowyn enters the bar and orders a drink from the barman she asks if Marcas has come in he indicates the man in the corner. She praises the lady Tralda as she approaches the table and tips the brim of her hat in greeting.
"Hello Marcas, haven't seen you around for a few months, mind if I sit here? Seen you're recruiting for a mission?"

"Please join me, it is very good to see you again, Elandowyn. Sadly it took me a little longer than expected to recover from the injuries I sustained in the catacombs, despite your first rate care." Marcas then lowers his voice, becoming very serious. "I do not mean to be rude my Lady, but what we are about to discuss must stay between us and our fellows of the adventuring community that can be trusted. It is not myself who is hiring for this mission, but my Lord and Grandfather, Baron McGowan. Upon Sunday past, an attempt was made on his life by an unknown assailant, who somehow made it past the guards in dead of night and attempted to kill my Lord, they were unsuccessful, the Lady was cornered by the guards once the alarm had been raised but she had a secret weapon, some kind of Scorpion, that when struck released some sort of cloud of toxin, my Grandfather referred to it as Swiftdeath. She and six of the guards died before any purge poisons could be administered." Marcas begins to shift uneasily in his chair, his wounds obviously troubling him but not nearly as much as recounting the Baron's message. "What I wrote in that notice about the attacks on Waterfoot is true, but my Lord also believes that it this group of dissidents that made the attempt upon his life"

She chuckles slightly at he mentions the catacombs "I am meerly an apprentice and I'll admit we were relying on luck more than once then" Elandowyn leans in as Marcas lowers his voice and nods her agreement at confidentiality visably grimaces as Marcas speaks of the assassination attempt. "that is terrible, swiftdeath also someone was determined. It's such a shame so many lost their lives but the attack was thwarted which is good thing." She thinks for the moment "the surgeon general died recently to very similar circumstances as I recall." "So are we going to follow the leads from the Waterfoot troubles or your grandfathers home?"

"I am not currently sure of exactly where to start, but I do know that my Grandfather wishes for us to meet him on Saturday, I hope you understand that I do not wish to give voice to his location."
Marcas reaches inside his pouch and draws out a small piece of parchmen and a quill, he writes a single word upon the parchment it reads "Waterfoot" once Elandowyn has had time to read it, he places it in the flame of the candle on the table until it catches light.
"There was also an attempt on the life of the head of House Burns, he survived but his Lady wife was sadly not so lucky. If the death of Surgeon General is also linked it would appear that this group has a very long reach indeed."

"Someone seems to have it for folk in a big way. Are there any other adventures who have expressed an interest in this mission? Are there any you don't recognise?"

"Not so far, you appear to be the only member of the adventuring community to be interested in helping to eradicate this menace."

Seryn noisily batters open the door to the pub, yawning as she swaggers in, before stumbling over the mountain of invisible dust that mysteriously appears before her. She clumsily regains her balance and wanders over to the bar unfastening her tankard as she goes. She leans over the bar top like she's already had a few. she peers left and right looking for the bar keep. "Oi.... Can I get a drink here... I'm parched!" a moment passes and there is still no sign of the bar keep, she rattles her tankard of the top, "OI... I want a drink!"
the bar keep sluggishly appears, muttering *her again? ugh*
"ahhh.... a pint o' yer finest my man!"
The barkeep reluctantly fills her her drinking vessel and hands it to her. She gulps in a very unlady like fashion at the ale and turns round to see Marcus and Elandowyn whispering in the corner.
She was sure she saw something about Marcus recruiting adventurers.
She swaggers over, spilling a little of her ale as she goes
"Aright, what's happening?"

"Basically, yes." Marcus turns to Elandowyn and says in a low tone "Can she be trusted?"

Seryn frowns at Marcus, before nodding excitedly to Elandowyn.
"whaddya mean can I be trusted, I'm like... epicly trustworthy." She turns to Elandowyn "Yeah I just washed the bumps and bruises away with a few of these boys!" she swishes her tankard around and takes a gulp.
"So..." She guzzles down the contents of her tankard and slams it on the table, "What's the plan?"

"Very well, we need all the we can get with this. Seryn, I am about to tell you the same thing I told Elandowyn, this does not go any further than us, do you understand?" He waits for her reply before continuing. "What was posted on the notice board was basically true, but there is also another problem that must be dealt with. It is not myself who is hiring for this mission, but my Grandfather, Baron McGowan, I am acting as his proxy in this matter to help protect my liege Lord. Upon Sunday past, an unknown attacker made an attempt on his life, she somehow made it past his guards during the night and attempted to kill my Lord, she was unsuccessful, the Lady was cornered by the guards once the alarm had been raised but she had a secret weapon, some kind of Scorpion, that when struck released some sort of cloud of Swiftdeath toxin. She and six of the guards died before any purge poisons could be administered. My Grandfather has reason to believe that the group perpetrating the attacks on Waterfoot have something to do with the attempt on his life."
